Michael RoohanMichael Roohan – CA, B Comm

Managing Director

Michael is a Chartered Accountant and has over 25 years experience in advising businesses in a variety of industries including professionals, medical, retail, farming, manufacturing and technology. Michael particularly enjoys working with SME’s, proactively helping them meet their business and lifestyle goals.

Michael can assist with business planning, valuations, tax planning, and all the commercial considerations of establishing, buying or selling a business.

Michael can also advise on structuring, accounting and auditing requirements for operating a Self Managed Superannuation Fund.Michael is also a Limited Authorised Representative of Merit Wealth PTY Limited.

Melissa WelshMelissa Welsh – B. Fin Admin

Senior Accountant – Self Managed Superannuation

Melissa Welsh is a degree qualified accountant and has been working locally in the industry since 2001. Melissa specialises in Self-Managed Superannuation and enjoys helping clients work toward their retirement goals. Melissa has completed her Diploma of Financial Planning and become a member of the Institute of Public Accountants. As well as becoming a Limited Authorised Representative of Merit Wealth PTY Limited.

Kerri-Anne MacAndrew – Grad Cert Prof Acc.

Senior Accountant – Business Development

Kerri-Anne returned to the Manning Valley in September 2004 after several years with a large Sydney based firm. Commencing her accounting career in 1992 Kerri-Anne offers a wealth of expertise including Business Development, Strategic Planning, Company & Business Taxation. Kerri-Anne also specialises in MYOB Consulting.

Erica WaringErica Waring

Senior Accountant – Business Taxation

Erica commenced her career in Lismore prior to relocating to the Manning Valley in January 2013, specialising in complex accounting matters and small business advisory matters, including MYOB and Xero consulting.

Kay GoonKay Goon


Kay is a qualified Chartered Accountant who has worked in Melbourne, Papua New Guinea and Darwin prior to moving to Taree in October 2014. Prior to leaving Darwin she operated her own bookkeeping service. Kay is now enjoying being part of the local community with interests ranging from assisting Riding for the Disabled to being involved with the Arts in the area.

Dean WhitlamDean Whitlam

Accountant – Taxation and Business

Dean is a local lad who graduated from the University of Newcastle with a double degree of a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Commerce in 2014. He then moved to London and worked/traveled for 12 months before returning to the Manning Valley. Dean has a focus on helping clients through tax and GST related issues with a particular passion for small business.

James TynanJames Tynan

Accountant – Taxation and Self Managed Superannuation Funds

James has completed his Bachelor of Accounting at Charles Sturt University, Port Macquarie. James can assist with many aspects of accounting and taxation, with his role also encompassing the area of self-managed superannuation. James has also commenced his Chartered Accountants program.

Hayley GreenHayley Berry – currently on maternity leave

Client Support Liaison

Hayley is a valuable member of the administration team.  Having recently completed her Cert IV in Accounting Hayley is responsible for assisting the MJR Accountants with a variety of accounting processes. Her role sees her liaising with clients to ensure all information is received and lodgement deadlines are met.  She is also actively involved in liaising with the ATO, banks and other key service providers to ensure prompt service is provided to clients.

Belinda EggletonBelinda Eggleton


Belinda is receptionist for the MJR Accountants team and has many years of administrative and banking experience. Belinda provides administrative support for the MJR Accountants team and clients.

Joy McCaffreyJoy McCaffrey – Dip Financial Planning

Practice Administrator/Client Services Administration

Joy comes to MJR with extensive business experience in the Legal, Health and Financial Planning industries within the Manning Valley. Joy supports the practice and the accounting team with varied administration functions and also enjoys her regular client contact. Over many years Joy has been actively involved in many local organisations supporting the community.

Bethany Murphy

Client Support Liaison

Beth has joined our team and is currently relieving for Hayley whilst she is on maternity leave.  Beth has completed her Cert III in Accounts Administration, her Cert IV in Accounting and her Diploma of Accounting.  Her future goals are to obtain her Bachelor of Accounting.  At the present time her role sees her liaising with clients, the ATO, banks and other key service providers to ensure prompt, efficient service is provided to our clients.

Sonya Ruprecht


Sonya is a local through and through and has joined our team in a Bookkeeper capacity. She assists our Accounting Staff with job management, reporting, MYOB and Xero reconciliation and basic accounting work, just to name some of her duties.  Her career has seen her develop a very broad range of office administration and bookkeeping roles.  Going forward she will play a key role in supporting our accounting staff and clients.
